The 111th Nottingham Scout Group has been providing fun, challenge and adventure through the Scouting experience in the Sherwood and Mapperley areas of Nottingham for over 35 years.
We believe that Scouting is about encouraging and enabling the personal development of young people by providing them with opportunities in life that are not necessarily available through schools or other youth organisations.
Scouting encourages young people of all backgrounds to have self-belief and a voice, enabling them to develop physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually. We call this “Everyday adventure”.
They just call it “FUN”!
We believe that young people develop most when they are learning by doing' - when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves, albeit guided by adult leadership.
We currently have three sections that are open to both boys and girls:
Beavers - (for ages 6-8): Meet on Tuesday nights.
Cubs - (for ages 8-10.5): Meet on Tuesday nights.
Scouts -(for ages 10.5-14): Meet on Monday nights.
